As a non-toxic mineral, gypsum can be helpful to humans, animals, plant life, and the environment. While most of the gypsum produced in the world is used to manufacture gypsum panel products or building plasters, highly purified gypsum can also be used in anti-caking agent, drying agent, dough-strengthener, firming agent, color enhancer, stabilizer, and thickener. Gypsum (calcium sulfate) is recognized as acceptable for human consumption by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use as a dietary source of calcium, to condition water used in brewing beer, to control the tartness and clarity of wine, and as an ingredient in canned vegetables, flour, white bread, ice cream, blue cheese, and other foods. Our exceptionally pure gypsum powder with record low crystalline water has long been in high demand among our international customers for use in food products including but not limited to baked goods, puddings, gelatins, pasta, tofu, frosting, candies, ice cream and other frozen dairy products.
